2012 Verso 2.0 power steering intermittent

Never had an issue with my car having owned it from 1 year old. But it has started losing power steering intermittently mostly while doing speeds of over 40 mph. No warning lights, no noises.

The clock and lights are also intermittently flickering and the radio / screen turned itself off and on randomly yesterday.

Local garage said alternator or Battery, but had it in and said nothing wrong with alternator, said Battery needed replacing, which they did, but it has made no difference to the problem. 
 

sometimes it takes around 15 minutes into a drive for it to happen. The garage have taken it out for a drive and of course it didn’t do it at all.
