Hi Guys,

I'm looking to get an estima but would like to know about actual fuel consumption for both versions. I am looking at 2009/2010 versions for each.

At the moment I work from home but have a 130 mile round commute for one day a week, this is nearly all motorway.

thanks in advance

Welcome.

Hi Paul,

I noticed the "Estima hybrid fuel consumption" just after I posted my question! 😊

So using Stevenson's figures, hybrid:

300 miles,  60 litres?  = 23 mpg

380 miles, 60 litres, with cruise control on a longer journey = 29mpg

Pakman petrol on a long run = 35mpg

And RUToyota with 3.0 litre 4wd  = 32/33 mixed driving in summer

I was speaking to an importer and they recommended the petrol over the hybrid as there is not much difference in mpg and petrol is a few thousand cheaper.  They advised to expect about 30 mpg, with the hybrid being very marginally more efficient.

The posted figures seem to back that up, would be good if anyone can add more info.

cheers

But...don't ignore what I said about Winter/short run motoring and how that affects the averages...so overall I'm looking at nearer 25mpg.

ok, thanks. Winter will always be less efficent as all the electrics will be going, headlights, heaters fans etc and short runs will be even worse as the engine will still be cold.

but if the hybrid battery needs replacing it going to cost you about £1000

Hi

Would that be a new Battery, and do you have any recommendations for the garage?

Today I visited a garage in Greenford London, who said 2850 pounds for the new battery

Many thanks

£1200-1500 for a reconditioned Battery on exchange, it's about a 4-5 hour job to swap over

Just to update...I did a 140 mile trip last weekend...mainly Motorway/A1.

(Avg 50/60mpg).fully loaded with holiday luggage plus 2 folding electric bikes.

Air-con on 50% of the way.

Did a "back of a fag packet" check and the worst I could come up with was 27/28mpg.

For a 3 litre 2 tonne beast I thought that was pretty damn good.
