Unresponsive sat-nav screen

The screen on my Avensis T27 has become increasingly unresponsive.  The upper part of the screen seems more affected than the lower.  It is difficult at times to enter postcodes etc.  Does anyone know if there's anything I can do to improve this? Or do I need to keep a lookout for a replacement part?

Possibly a software update may help.
