Are the instrument panels from 5 and 6 speed cars the same. Are they interchangeable? The back light on my 5 speed dash has failed and I have the opportunity to buy a good second hand 6 speed one.

Yes the dash is the same, as long as it's NOT a diesel one (different rev counter)

You will also need to get the mileage corrected

If it's just the display, it's the LEDs that have blown if the whole dash is dark check the fuses and connectors
