3yr  old with 40k on the clock so not a low mileage person and drove 230 to airport before leaving it.

Any comments or recommendations

Was never told about this problem either before purchasing or in the last three years

Replace the Battery as per many a thread, lockdown killed a lot of batteries and has weakened many

is it a hybrid ? 1.8 or 2.0 its a standard Battery so £60-100

If its the 2 litre hybrid with Battery in the boot then its very important you remember to refit the vent pipe to the replacement Battery

Varta / Bosch ( exactly the same under the stickers ) OR a Yuasa branded Battery are the best choices for a replacement.

There's plenty of information on this topic in the forum, I've ordered a chr for delivery November (it's on its way) and as I regularly travel on holiday I looked into the flat Battery problems, I will get a solar Battery charger to plug into the on board diagnostic plug and use that when the car isn't being used for a period of time (holidays and airports etc) plenty of owners on here have had the flat Battery and many seem to have solved it with the solar charger.

I’ve just had to replace the 12v Battery on my wife’s 2020 Chr.In the 30 months we have had this car, the Battery has completely discharged three times.I’m told by Toyota personnel that you need to run the car for 40 mins per week and or buy  a trickle charger.I don’t recollect reading that in the marketing bumph. The car is used daily with some distance work.

Our previous chr gave us no problems at all so I find Toyotas insistence on their above protocol confusing.
