I confess. 

Some years ago I reversed into a large concrete planted.  It must have weighed more than the car.  It was low and out of sight.  It was about 5 feet diameter but the base was under 2 feet.  I knocked it over.  There was no damage to the car so I departed. 

The planter was outside the Police Office in the car park. 

Some days later all similar planters had been removed.

I got a set from here:

But I found out that the full open is too long thus push the hood too far up, so I ordered a pair of shorter one from Amazon here.

This one is just perfect in both stroke and power. BTW the set from Aliexpress comes with the 2 top brackets and 2 bottom joint bolts which you need. Minor adjustment is required for proper closing. Good idea! But for my taste, that would be great if it only illuminates at the beginning and then fades off. Since it is on the hood as a daylight, I would prefer it not to remain illuminated continuously.

Agree especially during the day, so I added the mini wireless switch to the left side of the dashboard which I can turn it on/off. It also comes with keychain remote.
