Cluster swap from 2017 to 2012?

Hello, i want to try this swap into my 2012 prefacelift Yaris 1.33.
A budget cluster in 2017 has line assist but I think if I would buy the instrument cluster without full color display, an error would not appear at all (maybe on Techstream/OBD error frames only which is not a problem for me). 
Am I think properly about it?

Second thing is a frame of this cluster.. My friend tried and as we can see, newer cluster has a big gap when we put it on 2012 Yaris.
Is there some possibility to hide this gap?

The pre facelift has a different dashboard and centre console

you may need a trim from a later car 2014 onwards

you will need to reprogram the flash to disable the features you dont have

you also need to change the audio controls, so you can control the menus

You are wrong. I want to put a cluster without menus and color display etc..
Cluster that i want to put in my car has his dedicated DISP button on it, just like my current. So i don't need to do anything with a steering wheel buttons..

That was in reference to the MID type

either way, you will still need to reprogram the dash to disable the TSS features and correct the mileage/Km's, that is done at the hardware level by rewriting the eeprom

As I said above, 2011 - 2014 cars have a different dashboard and console you will need a surround from a 2014-2020 car

@flash22 i found a problem with fuel range. Cluster from 2017 displays 200km more than my cluster from 2012. So i think i will cancel that project

Reset the trip then, you need the dash from a car with the same engine/gearbox
