Hi,

My Aygo has developed leaks at the top of both rear pillars. Only included one picture, but had the same on the other side.

Also had to dry the carpets in the boot, which places should I focus - any diagrams or pictures of area of focus would be great.

thanks

Hi Jay,

You may already know that water leaks of this nature are common on all three Aygo based vehicles.

The most likely cause is the rear high level brake light assembley. The neoprene type rubber seal dries out and shrinks over time and the inevitable happens, water gets in there and finds any way it can to get out. If the seal isn't to bad you can apply some silicone sealant to the mating faces of the body work and the back of the plactic light or if it's beyond saving apply a decent amount of the sealant to the back of the brakelight and refit, only two philips screws hold it in place.

If the head lining is is wet it could also be that the bolts/studs holding the glass tailgate could be your problem and need similar treatment but this will be a more involved task. Have had leaks on an Aygo, 107 and C1 and the main problem has always that brakelight unit on all. If you tend to park where the vehicle slopes to the left and right that would cause water seemingly leaking on both rear pillars.

Both rear light units can also be a cause of water in the boot and wet carpet, you could be unfortunate and have three leaky light units! Best to start high up and work your way down if your still taking on water! There are a number of youtube video's dealing with fixes for these leaks.

Good luck and let us all know how you get on.
