SRS light, module not communicating with Snap-On diagnostics

So my SRS light will not go out, I have checked the yellow connectors under the seats and they have already been removed and the wires simply joined together. my mechanic has tried to help by using the snapon diagnostics tool tho that just said that it could not connect to the SRS module do you guy's know anything I could try before going to Toyota dealer avensis 2.2 diesel estate 56 plate
