Cant open doors

Hi Guys

My 2007 Yaris has a flat Battery and i can't manualy open the doors or boot with the key. Anyone have any ideas

Hi AJ,

If the key blade inserted and turned in any of the cars locks isn't working then maybe the car was deadlocked prior to the Battery giving up the ghost.

Only thing I can suggest is to jack up the front of the car, get low down on the floor and reach up behind the front bumper/panel and radiator to try and locate the bonnet release cable, should be similar to the brake cables on a push bike, and give it a good tug. A torch will likely prove useful trying this.

That should release the bonnet and give you access to the engine bay and the Battery. You'll either need to replace the 12v Battery or easy option would be to run jump leads from your defunct battery to another vehicle or even an  old battery with some life in it and then hopefully there'll be enough juice to unlock the car as normal.

Think the later models may have had an emergency key blade hidden in the remote locking fob. Good luck AJ.
