Holiday Hire Toyota’s

Just got home from 10 days in Crete (thankfully not one of the Greek Islands that is on fire)

Rather than hire for the whole holiday we hired several times for 2 days at a time.  First up was a Mk4 Yaris (2022 from the hire agreement). A car that we don’t get here in the UK. 1.0 petrol non hybrid. Fairly basic spec, steel 15” wheels but the larger display screen. Second car was a 2021 Aygo high spec, CarPlay and climate control instead of ac. 

It was interesting to compare the 2 cars. I’d have expected the Aygo to perform better but markedly not so. In fact the Yaris was so much nicer to drive. The chassis would be expected to be better (it was-much) but what was surprising was that the engine felt more eager and smoother. 

I wonder if Toyota have re-tuned the engine ?
