Used 2013 Auris hybrid map update??

Hi all,

I recently bought a used Auris hybrid Excel 2013. Am I able to get the touch and go map updated?? If do, how would I go about it??

Hi, 

maps in cars built in sat navs are usually not good especially when turn few years old. Your one at 10 years age would become like an old tomtom, or old Nokia N95 ,  no update available and best to use your phone and Google maps or any other app you like for navigation.

You can search a map update up to 2022 I believe.  eBay or Amazon map update are genuine and cost much cheaper than dealership. i bought one for my 2016 Auris and get 2019 update. After that I did not update anymore because the roads change a lot in Europe.  At least now I have roads inside the national lab I work.  The original 2015 map has no road on my office complex.   The traffic assistant works flawlessly with any modern phone S20+.  It is pretty good for a traffic delays for an accident or heavy traffic,  but it is as bad as Google if there is a recent detour routes.

Thanks but that update is for the touch 2. I have touch and go. I have looked on eBay and the seller says they need the device ID and map update code.

Does that sound dodgy??

No, its necessary for them to know those in order to generate the required code for you to enter into the unit when you install the update. Over the years I bought a couple of map updates from eBay for the Touch & Go in our 2012 Avensis and they worked fine.

Exactly, the seller will generate the license key unique to your device ID

You give the Device ID to the seller, he will generate the code that you will type in later. He will send you the link to download and extract the softare to a usb flash drive. Just plug in and it i will guide you step by step. 

Make sure you use a real good USB drive from Sandisk, Kingston, Crucial, Samsung, etc. Not unknown chinese junks that will brick your device.

Sooo all of a sudden my touch and go has stopped working properly

1- the speed on the satnav says 48mph

2- bluetooth isn't working. When I press setup, bluetooth everything is greyed out apart from the top item 'bluetooth off' but nothing happens when I press it. I've tried connecting my phone but touch and go isn't listed.

Any ideas??

I have tried pressing set up and putting the headlights on 3 times until the diagnostics screen appears, then pressing and holding INT but nothing happens.

Can anybody help??

Try to disconnect the Battery and see if it can reset some setup that is not right.  

I never have these issues. So, disconnect Battery negative terminals for few hours, removes all devices connected to it. 

After that, you can add the bluetooth devices

What did really happen,BigSpoon?

Perhaps your navi had a defect before updating?

I'm planning to buy an update from a British seller in eBay, so any further explanation would be appreciated... thanks

Sorry for the delay in replying!!

It turns out that I needed a complete new head unit and bluetooth adapter.

Pardon on insisting but, did you need a new head unit as a consequence of updating the maps/software?

Or nothing to do with that?

I don't think any update is the cause of the issues unless we have corrupted files from a bad USB flash drive.  The most important thing is to make sure your car is in READY mode and the engine is running.  

It may take more than 30 minutes to finish the update.   I updated 2x from eBay and Lithuanian online resalers for €35.99 total. In 2020 and last month. 

Be aware that any update date is 1 y older than the actual release. 2023v2 is 2022 fall, not the 2023 map.  The interface does not changed since 2020v2, so, only the map update. Fortunately, I found no bugs but the map is significantly better over the past 3 years because we have many new roads and round about in EU.

I have no idea, maybe a coincidence?! I'm unsure.

On the bright side the update I installed was 2020 and now the dealership has installed the 2022 free if charge, so I can't complain!!
