Yaris - breakdown after service

Hi

just after some advice please.  My Yaris was at the dealer a week ago for its second service and recall.  When I drove it home later that day it lost all power and all warning lights came on.  The AA couldn’t detect the problem so it was towed back to the dealer. I was told it was the Battery and it had been replaced free of charge! I picked the car up today and it broke down on my way home with the same problem.  Now back with the dealer.  Anyone else has this problem.  On the verge of telling them to keep it!  I’ve had 2 years trouble free is it just a coincidence it happened after the service?

Thanks in advance

The first step is Battery receving a charge from dc / dc converter its easy to check with a voltmeter I have one pluged into the cigaret/aux power socket all the time.

I still give it a charge from the mains now and then but a brand new Battery that should last a month just standing on the drive.

Its possible one of the clamps was not tightend up when new Battery fitted lets see what in the technicians report.

No, you shouldn’t tell them to keep it.

You’ve had two trouble free years and no reason why, when this fault is fixed, you shouldn’t get more trouble free years.

i can fully understand your frustration with what’s happened but lets see what ‘tomorrow’ brings when the dealer has had chance to look at the car.
