Hybrid Electrically DEAD

4 times now I have found my Auris total dead.

Nothing would work.

Had the RAC out and a jump start appeared to reset everything

Apon investigation, RAC said 12v Battery was ok, sufficient charge and not a problem.

But at the time no dashboard lights not even the clock.

Did hear a regular tick from the passenger side , and that would stop when I put my foot on the break.

Anyone else had problems like this? 2017 Auris excel

My initial guess is the 12v Battery is old and needs replacing; When was it last changed?

Yes, I’m leaning that way. Just don’t understand why its completely dead.

It the original factory fitted.

Thanks for the reply Cyker

If the 12v Battery was OK then a jump start (which effectively parallels the Battery with another) would have made no difference.

That would be my first thought as well. Or possibly loose Battery terminals, certainly worth a check though.

Loose terminals or corrosion inside terminal fittings remove and clean.

You may need special jump starting because your hybrid Battery is over depleted. There is a technical service bulletin for that. Which is called Hybrid Battery rescue. Your Toyota dealership should know about it.

Unless you have an accident before or someone mess around with the cables inside the dashboard.
