Toyota spares available overseas but NOT deliverable to UK.

I have recently looked into the possibility of purchasing an OSR taillight assembly for a 2012 Aqua (Japanese import) and have found one supplier in the USA and one in China but both suppliers say they cannot ship to UK.  Fortunately I no longer need the item, but for future reference I would like to know if this is a prohibition imposed by Toyota UK and if so how are they able to do that?

If these are Toyota dealers, there may be something in their contracts with Toyota restricting the geographical areas within which they can supply parts.

If not Toyota dealers, it may be their decision which markets they will supply parts to.

Nothing to do with an individual importer - eg. Toyota GB.

First Toyota policy I ever thought was total horse ****.  Especially restricting to NI… as if the dealer network here should have any support from Toyota with what they do to its brand reputation day-in, day-out..
