Engine swap from 2.0 d4d manual to 1.8 petrol cvt

Hi all,

We've had our Toyota Verso 2.0 d4d for 5 years. We live close to London and are very restricted by the ulez. I was looking to sell it and buy another one with petrol engine and automatic gearbox. They seem to be very expensive however and not many around. We need 3 independent seats in the middle and for that reason we would still want a Verso. I've looked in to it financially and it seems out diesel is worth around 3.5k and replacement petrol is around 9k. So potentially I have a budget of around 5k.

I was considering changing the engine to petrol 1.8 with CVT gearbox. Has anyone done this before? I know it's going to be big job. I'll have to change engine, gearbox, possibly drive shafts, new ECU with coding the keys and few new harnesses to mention a few.

Anyone here able to provide me some assistance?

Are all electrical diagrams available on GTS/Techstream?
