Android Head Unit rear camera problems

Hi all, Can someone please help me with my problem. I am fitting an Android Xtrons PE head unit into my wife's 2011 Rav4 2.2 D4D XTR and I just cannot get the reversing camera to work. I keep getting 'no signal'.

I have triple checked all the wiring to the head unit AND to/from the rear camera and because the first reversing camera didn't work (it wasn't an Xtrons one but it should have been compatable) I have now wired in an Xtrons reversing camera and guess what? The !Removed! thing doesn't work either.... I really am losing the will to live with this head unit and reversing camera and I don't know what to do next. Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong or what I haven't done yet?
I have heard about CANbus but have no idea what it is and don't know if my wife's car has it and what to do if it has..

Please, Please can someone help.....

Hi Paul,  I got around it by running the wiring that came with the camera all way from the tailgate to the head unit and not using the existing wiring.

Everything worked fine after that, but the camera was poor quality so I decided to use the original Toyota one, which on my RAV4 (a 2008 Mark III) only needed 6 volts to operate, needing a power converter and a bit of a wiring change to take the power from the Reversing Light instead of mucking about with connections on the Head Unit.
