High beam assist

Hello all,

Hopefully an easy one to answer. Driving on the motorway today and it was raining really heavily. I noticed the high beam assist green light on the dashboard had gone out is this normal? 

 

Edit to add when I got of the motorway the high beam assist dashboard light came back on

For anyone who is interested spoke to my local Toyota garage, who said this was normal, it deactivates in very heavy rain as the light scatter is not good with high beam in these conditions
