Speedometer not working/yellow Engine light on

My 2004 Rav4 had just got through the MOT when the speedo stopped working, now the Engine light has come on although its yellow and not flashing.  Having problems with the central locking as well.  Any advice?

Do you have a sunroof?

There have been a couple of threads dealing with the speedometer not working due to water ingress via the sunroof causing corrosion on a connector feeding speedo data to the dash. See:
