Service intervals & which service to choose

Hi all,

My 2015 Auris TS is almost due its service - I suspect it may need a full one, but as previous services have been out of line with the usual mileage or time-based intervals, I'd be interested to get your views.

Here's what the servicing record looks like - year, actual mileage and actual service done (as advised by the dealership):

2016 - 2k - Intermediate 10k / 12 month
2017 - 7.5k - Full 20k / 24 month
2018 - 13k - Intermediate 30k / 36 month
2019 - 18.5k - Intermediate 10k / 12 month
2020 - 23.5k - Full 20k / 24 month
2021 - 26.5k - Intermediate 50k / 60 month
2022 - 30k - Full 60k / 72 month
2023 - 36k - Intermediate 90k / 108 month (+ front brake strip & clean)

So this year based on age it should have the 108 month service, but that's the one it had last year. Mileage this time will only be about 40k so I don't know if it's safe to say that another intermediate would be fine (as I was advised in 2019 due to relatively low mileage - and that was on more miles than I've done this year) or would a full service be a wiser move?

I'm hoping there's nothing special about the 40k, 70k or 80k services as I notice from the record that it's never had those (assuming the correct service type has been recorded).

Any views?

Theoretically if it has been serviced according to schedule (intermediate year 1, full year 2, etc) the next full service should be 2025 (10 years/100K miles). The first coolant change will be due at this service, with subsequent coolant changes every 5 years/50K miles.

If you use a Toyota dealer for servicing, I'd be inclined to see what they suggest for this year.

Thanks @FROSTYBALLS, yes I'll be sticking with the Toyota dealer for servicing as the Relax warranty seems like a big incentive to stump up the extra cost (plus the hybrid health check). I'll see what they recommend.

What happened in 2018 and 2019? There are "intermediate" services listed for both years.

@Slartybartfast I booked it in at the dealership, and they suggested just doing another intermediate service because of the relatively low mileage since the previous service. 🤷‍♂️ I went along with that on the basis that they should know what they're doing (and a smaller bill is always nice!).
