Issue with Toyota Aygo MK1 auto

Hi folks, have Toyota Aygo, 3 cylinder , 1 liter engine with CVT gearbox.

Lately it were acting strange, revving high, but wouldn't speed up , car driving slow.

Did diagnostics with Toyota-tech using tactrix 2.0 open dongle, it showed two errors, not really understand what it means..

C1542 vehicle speed signal

C1545 engine revolution systems

Any advice what those codes means, and what to look for?

Would it be crankshaft sensor ? Or gearbox speed sensor?

Speedometer operates ok.

Thanks.

mk1 and mk2 Auto aygo's are MMT

C1542

Vehicle Speed Signal Abnormal
Decrease

more than likely an EPS problem

C1545

can you please confirm this is the correct code, as it has a few different meanings other than the generic OBD2 one

in all honesty, it sounds like it needs a new clutch and clear the codes

@flash22 thanks for your answer.

I have removed gearbox by now, and clutch.. ordered new one to pick up tomorrow morning.

I haven't got that manual what you have left , I have removed clutch actuator without that clamp position.

Clutch disk is not looking mad worn, as seen on manual cars. It went slipping when went to 2 and on gears.

Any advice to reset that clutch actuator?  (Seen in YouTube guy were removing actuator motor, and winding fully back, then half turn forward - would that be solution ? )

The errors what shown I'll try post picture. Wonder errors was due slipping clutch?

Thanks in advance.

Both are related to an over rev condition, the car lost drive and the rpm shot up

it could be a weak pressure plate or bearing

put it back together and run the full procedure

Pressure plate indeed looks uneven , bearing touch line some grooves and it was not going smooth, kind sticking, maybe fine under load.

Thanks for your help 👍

Just quick update.

Got correct clutch kit only by second attempt visiting parts shop, I had feeling that there goin to be an issue, so I had old clutch kit with me, so I left it with them, and next day got correct clutch kit. (Same as original- Aisin).

Any idea what Nm force to screw 6 screws on pressure plate ?

Found only manual gearbox have 19 Nm , wonder mmt box clutch would be same ?

Thanks.

yes early and late clutches iirc its the pressure plate and bearing that are different

Thanks for help. Clutch been replaced , run adaptation via official online techstream with (official) tactrix open port 2 dongle. (8 with something euro a day, or 18 euro for the week). Wasn't easy though... Dropped connection to car number times, some times software didn't see dongle... But eventually it did worked.

As clutch actuator wasn't set for clutch works(didn't know first that have to be done), I've manually set it to "start" point (as per some video in YouTube).

Shop gave gearbox oil Valvoline 75w80. Put 1.7 liter of oil. Couldn't verify level, as car was on jack's, so front was higher as normally in operational mode.

Seems to be everything working fine.

Another victory with great community help. 🤝👏
