Probably, but if not it'll usually still work, just not use all the capacity.

Will someone please see if 256Gb will work in the GWX380.

Some later Nextbase cams use 256Gb

The 256GB card won't work.I believe the 622GW is able to use the 256GB card.

The max size the 380GW will accept is 128GB. I use a SanDisk Ultra Micro SD 128GB Class 10 SDHC SDXC Memory Card in the 380GW fitted to our Yaris. It works perfectly.

I use the SanDisk 128GB Extreme Micro SD XC SDXC 4K U3 Card in my 522GW, which is fitted to my C-HR

As I've mentioned previously, our Yaris has the same Dashcam, and that records over the oldest videos when the card is filled.

I've now also realised that to delete files, I have to remove the SD card and using a card adapter, plug it into my PC.

I need to access the camera settings and can't connect with my phone, I assume I can plug my Laptop directly into the camera and change settings that way ?  I shall try tomorrow.

If yours is like mine, plugging it into a computer just shows the contents of the SD card. With most cameras you can only change the settings via its built-in menu, or an app, or more rarely a WiFi web interface.

@Cyker,  to update the firmware you need to plug it into the computer.

When you plug it into the computer the Dashcam goes into protect mode.

Spot a problem here? 😆

From their FAQ there is a special way of plugging in the Dashcam.  I haven't check to see if you can access other settings.  I need to do this to desensitise the G sensing.

Had a dull thought just now.

Car is outside,  computer is on, will nip out and ......

Dull?  Yup, my new SD Card arrives today and will need to nip out and ......

Fortunately I had another cup of coffee which sharpened the brain cell.

@Roy124 to answer your earlier question, I haven't tried the 256gb card in our 380GW. I use a 128GB card, which gives us more than enough time. I did try a 256gb card in a previous 412GW I had, which would accept a 128gb card. It didn't work though.

You can format the card while it is in the camera. Start the car to switch on the Dashcam. Remove the side covers of the Dashcam. Press the "Power" button to stop recording, and then press and hold the large triangle on the back of the camera for at least six seconds. A small yellow LED will flash quickly. This is the card being formatted. When the yellow LED stops flashing, the card is formatted. Press the power button again, and the camera will start to record again.

Switch off the ignition. The camera will automatically shut down as usual. Don't forget to replace the side covers of the Dashcam

I know that is what is stated in the Manual but I pressed the red triangle and then got the yellow format light.

Interesting. I always have to turn off the recording, which is done by pressing the power button behind the side cover, before being able to format the SD Card. A slowly flashing yellow LED means the camera is looking for a GPS signal, while a fast yellow flashing LED means the card is being formatted

Oh interesting, on mine you have to copy the firmware onto the SD card to update the firmware.

Ack that's a shame... so it didn't recognise it at all?

Usually it'll see it but only format it to 128GB or whatever the max is, but not always the case as you prove!

I thought I'd sussed out all of the problems with my Nextbase. I went out today for a 30 minute journey

and when I got home, checked the video.  The journey to my destination recorded fine, but the journey

back home wasn't recorded at all.  It was the same when I went out in the evening, it was only my outbound

journey that was videoed............Ideas anyone  ?

My Dashcam seems to be recording ok now. It maybe threw a wobbly before

as I deleted some videos ?

I still can't connect by phone to the cam to get into the settings though. The

chap at the dealers is going to sort it out for me tomorrow. To turn down the G

sensitivity and possibly the Park mode.  It records anytime I go near the car or

open the garage door.

Is there a way of changing the settings other than connecting to a phone ?

The Nextbase people are very good on the chat, and seeing that the dealer is able to get into my settings

easily, It occured to me that he must have reset the password when the previous owner PX'ed the car.

I was given the following info to update the firmware which will also reset the password to the default.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To update the 380GWX Firmware, which will enable
you to reset the password to the default 12345678.
Connect your Dash Cam to your computer using the USB cable provided in the
Dash Cam box.
Press and hold the protect button during connection of the USB cable. Release
the button once the Wi-Fi button flashes blue.
If the dash cam does not appear as a drive on your PC, please press the reset
button on the side of your dash cam and try all the USB ports on your
computer.
Then the Dash Cam will be visible as a removable drive on your computer. If
you go into My Computer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) you will be able to see
the Dash Cam listed as a drive, usually called Nextbase.
Double click on this drive. You should then see Nextbase.com, nextbase.info
and DCIM.
Download this Firmware: https://cdn.nextbase.co.uk/firmware/7BBBFBBA-29F1-4B7B-8E3B-C389540068F8/NBDVR380GWA-R13.5.zip
Open the .zip file and move the .bin file(s) onto your SD card.
Safely remove the camera from your computer and power it through the
mount. The red LED will then flash as the firmware updates.
