Toyota Vitz 2014 dashboard illuminate

Hi everyone,

I have a problem as above, I don't know how to illuminate dashboard in my car I bought recently off car dealership as my first car. It is a Toyota Vitz 2014 automatic 1.0. The manual I was provided it`s in Japanese so i used Google Translate, but there is nothing about this, should I go to mechanic to check on this? Is it possible that my car has no illuminate dashboard, is there anything I can do about this? It's 2014 model and every day I am coming back home after my shift I do not see speedometer because my dashboard it's not illuminated. I would appreciate any help and advice in advance, please and thank you.

Not sure what you mean, the dashboard illumination comes on with the headlights

you have the basic gauges, so only get the speedo in the centre

try adjusting the dash brightness by pressing the trip button on the right a few times to find the brightness setting

Exactly what I meant, how do I adjust dashboard brightness? I have no option in there, I can only press that little dongs.

You either press multiple times or press and hold the right-hand trip button

Aha, now I get when THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SWITCHED ON then I need to look for that option, thank you I need to try it soon, I hope it will work in my car.
