Pinking sounds like someone shaking a bag of marbles. You only normally hear it when you accelerate and its most noticeable when the engine is labouring. Does that describe whats happening?? Its caused by the ignition timing being a little over advanced. You have two options really, 1 try a higher octane fuel (optimax etc) if you dont already use it that is and 2 adjust the ignition timing.
