The car in question has just had a road test - all went well except for a vibration between 40 -50 mph when braking ( you can feel it through the steering wheel) I aasume that this would be the front discs - I checked with mr T and they say they need a chassie number - which i have but they also want a frame number - which I dont have

Can somone advice me on

A whether it is the brake discs

B:)whether is likly to be the front /rear/both

C:)how much it is likley to cost

i had this trouble with my gen6 gt , turned out to be the front drivers caliper was sticking on,and warped the disc , anyhow i got a caliper repair kit from toyota for £26 replaced the discs and pads ,and it was cured , gt4 brake discs can be bought for around £65 each.

Try Brakes international...

same quality product but not toyota prices....

If its a CS ST205 all front disks are same size if dealer wants chasis number he is being lazy.. tell him year and ST205 or ST185 he can find it in 2 secs...

If its a ST185 CS its the same brakes as the UK spec ST185 which are all the same.

Only the early jap imports had small ST165 brakes with twin pot callipers.....

I know as I have been looking at upgrades.... ended up using hi-spec 4 pot 32mm thick discs
