04' Tundra A/c Click

I have an 04' Tundra and the A/C relay in the dash clicks over and over and over constantly once every 5-10 seconds. Does anyone else have or notice this? The dealer showed me others and they do they same thing. Toyota said they haven't had any complaints about it. Does this only bother me? It's louder than my radio!!Anyone know a fix? To me it's embarrasing and annoying, I really would like it to just go away!!

email me if your in the same boat, I would like to make enough complaints to start a recall.

Thanks!!

Hi Tundra,

I have a UK colorado that does the same thing. It sounds like a relay operating, then the engine revs go up until the relay clicks again and the engine revs go down.

It was explained to me that this is an economy feature as the aircon pump doesn't need to engage all the time and to save fuel it cuts out from time to time ( hence the relay click).

It may have been bull**** but having been in other colorados i have noticed the same in them. I don't think it is a problem as long as the air con is working ok.

Regards

Tbone

Thanks UK,

I guarantee that is is to take a release off the engine, just like you said. I too have gone to test drive others and they all seem to do it, it must be some newer feature. To me it is more of a nussance than a problem. The clicking bothers me and I was trying to find a way to maybe quiet it.

So if anybody knows a way to eliminate it or what I can do to dampen the sound please let me know!!!!

Thanks!
