My trusty red MR2 goes into the paint shop on Monday to be painted purple and black..

This has been the hardest decision I have had to make in a long time, I have seen the colour on the card but not on a car. My biggest worry is that I'm gonna turn up to fetch the car and I'll hate it! (dont think I will tho.. its lush).

I'm sick of the darker red.. and I want to stand out a bit!

just to let you know that its a new chapter for me and my MR2.. had her for over 2 years now.. just hope I'm doing the right thing.

I know.. I feel like I could easily back out and go for a more normal colour but I'm not..

Oh.. the paint code is RAL 4005 if anyone is interested!

Gonna have black graphics up the side of the car also to contrast the purple.

How did you find the paint shop btw what was it under in yellow pages

Found out about the paint place coz my uncle got his merc painted there..

Russ... found WheelWorx but it was closed so I'm still no closer to getting my wheels. I bought this months REV's (few MR2s in it BTW) so I'm gonna order them from there and get them delivered to my house ready for when my car is done.

Cheers everyone for he support.. its a pretty big deal for me!

looks a nice purple should make your 2 abit different,

is it a metalic or flat colour?

had a purple mk 1 capri yrs ago in met purple loved it

Its a flat colour.. its pretty deep looking tho.

I'm sure I'll get very mixed reactions.. its gonna be a 'love it or hate it' colour I think.

Some sort of black splat down each side that lines up to the black rear spoiler.

Not totally decided yet if I should have them black and silver to go with the chrome wheels.

it'll look good mate...

Can't wait till I finally get on with my respray ( again ... lol ). That will look pretty mad also. Our cars would look sweet sitting next to each other.

I was really nervous picking mine up after the skirts and rear bumper pieces were fitted - it all oooked great in my head but you always think.... what if!

If the place is good then you should have no worries though. I have seen a couple of simlar coloured '2s and they both looked good.

Well I got up early today in the pouring rain.

Pulled up and got out of the car,

"not another one" he says,

I look round and he is doing body work on a Rev3 Turbo!

He said he has done a few MR2's.

I felt a little sick when I was walking away, hope it looks ok when she is done. I have to ring him in one week so he can tell me how its going.
