Offset?

hi i have just bought a 92 import GT-R and would like to put some 17s on it, but i am wondering what offset they need to be, and if 17s actually fit ok, as its got 4ws, sorry for sounding so stupid, its my 1st jap car, and my first mod, Also i was just reading the post about top speed, and i think mine is still restricted, how would i go about de-restricting it? as it did top out at about 112mph the other day (on a disused runway of course!)
