I have a 97 camry 2.2 with auto transmission and its pretty much shot. it doesnt move when i put it in reverse and when i put it in drive i have to increase the rev to about 2000 rpm before it moves. i am resigned to trying to source a used one from a breakers yard, BUT a transmission repair specialist is telling me that this wont work as my transmission is unique to my car, i dont believe this but want to double check, anyone have any knowledge of this, please help.
