As you know I was made redundant in January but so far after numerous job applications (no replies yet!) nothing is in the pipeline.

One of my problems is that I have a physical condition at the moment which could effect any manual work although I wouldn't say it was an impossibility.

Moneywise I could last a year sat on my arris, but that's not my thing.

I could get a job tomorrow as a fitter (infact I could have walked straight into a job in January). I also know the same applies for HGV driving.

Fitting would probably get about 25 to 30k a year but that means the possibility of shift work and call outs. Driving would be about the same, but that would be nights out and weekends.

Management means I can be a **** and get a shed load of wonga on salary.

So what do you reckon?

I say management Les...

Wait until after JAE though as its always harder to get a job in the summer because the decision makers are all away!

Just go for what ever feels right mate, you might not get another chance. See it as an opportunity to do something different maybe. I'm in middle management and while it's not tough on the back, it can get very stessful and the days can be long. Also being on salary means I don't get overtime, no matter how many hours I do!!

Maybe spend some time tarting up your CV and make sure it stands out from the rest. Just small things like using good quality paper and presenting it in a nice binder helps you at least get a foot in the door. Trust me I know from first hand experience.

I'd rather stack shelves in a supermarket than have to sit at home watching Trisha.

Good luck

Joe
