the boss just threw me a trick question n i need some help

it takes 30min to fill a bath tub up with hot water & it takes 20min to fill the bath tub up with cold water.

how long does it take to fill it with both taps on??

Wont it depend though on the ratio of cold to hot?

was easy, you take the average time to fill the bath = 25 mins, and divide by 2 (as both taps are on) and voila, 12 and a half minutes...
