Aygo Mpg

I've got a 3 door Aygo Sport in mettalic carbon quartz and I'm very pleased with my new motor however I'm only getting 370 miles to a tank, which works out to be 52 mpg. This is mostly major A-road driving at 65-70 mph with a small amount of town "stop start" driving.

Just wondering what other Aygo owners get out of a full tank ?

I've checked my tyres and they are pumped up to the correct pressure.

I hope someone can shed some light on my missing miles !

Your missing miles are propably down to your heavy right foot

Try not drive so fast and don't accelerate to hard and you may get a few more miles to the gallon..... 52mpg ain't that bad.... what are you expecting to get?

You won't get anywhere near the claimed mpg by Toyota at this time of year anyway.....

Thanks for your reply Selfbuild. I was hoping I might get at least 60 mpg but it sounds like I'm hoping for a little too much. I'll ease off on the right foot.

I didn't realise cold weather affected mpg. thanks for the info

This time of year will allways affect your mpg.... mainly because you're most likely have your lights on, heater on, so the alternator is working harder and the engine takes longer to get up to it's normal temperture.

You propably find that Spring to Summer and Summer to Autumn (maybe be Autumn to Winter) will give you the best mpg..... you know, when you ain't using your lights etc. so much....

Don't forget that the engine will not give its best mpg until its loosened up a little. It will be tight for the first 10K ish miles.
