Hello peeps.

Here is the latest on that £1 mark IV supra. But first you will have to endure what I have in the past two days.

Supra is now stalling everytime I slow down. This is after 'curing' with new coolant. This was on the way into work in peak traffic. Battery went dead so luckily I jumped it off the leisure Battery I take along with me. I installed the regulator circuit for the starter (cost £4 from Halfords, bit of a surprise that it was cheap and that they sold such a technical item). I ran decent 30 amp wiring all round. Tried it out and the Suppy started. Horrah!! Then it just clicked for 1 hour until my other Battery went flat. However the click was louder than normal. So now I have no transport.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE MARK 4 SUPRA MARK 4 SUPRA MARK 4 SUPRA MARK 4 SUPRA

My missus phoned me yesterday afternoon from work as she was talking to the woman whose sister was selling me the now fabled £1 mark 4 supra. There are now three ladies whose car knowledge is next to nil ("oh it was a great car" what type was it? "oh it was blue I think"....you get the picture)

She is arranging a time for me to view the car and obtain keys from woman's father where the car is residing.

The price had changed as some traders had been contacted by the well meaning father of the woman whose sister had been telling my wife about it.

"Others are offering £100 (hundred) for it, says the wife".

"They are probably scrap dealers who can afford the time to part it" my retort.

"Is it manual or automatic? Is it turboed?" I ask, as these are important to me

"She wrote it down on a piece of paper, hold on I'll get it" she says

"Well there's an idea!" I smarted

"Shut it. Git face" She deservedly responded.

She comes back to the phone and starts to read the details of this SUPRA.

"It is black, with black seats.."

"WHAT ACTUALLY IS THE MODEL OF THE EFFING CAR!!!" I rudely interupted

"Its a Toyota Celica and ..."

"Forget it" I was soo totally despondent at this time I couldn't care whether I lived or died. All the plans for my mate to help me get it home. the damage assessment, whether to fix it or scrap it, how much I'd get for the parts, the respray for my MK III, a new starter motor and alternator, new leather for the seats, a subscription to tractor weekly magazine. Al of these died when I heard the word C E L I C A. :ffs:

My missus asked me " Is that not the same then?"

I am going away now for some time I may join the Foriegn Legion or even the RAC.

Good bye dear friends, think well of me. Or I might go postal on the Escort instead.

Regards

Michael

No one should be let near a decent car if they don't know how to do that!! Not just girls <_< :D

Can safely say I check my tyre pressures etc regularly. I've even got a gorgeous little pressure gauge, silver and black. It fits neatly into my glove compartment - it's fabulous darling.:rolleyes:

I need a wife who understands my obsession with cars, what better way to understand an obsession by having it yourself! ;)

is there an unsafe way of checking tyre pressure?

i once had to let my gf take control of the gearstick in the passenger seat while i was driving to change from 1st to 2nd, never again! for some reason she went into 4th the 1st attempt, 3rd the 2nd attempt then finally she got 2nd (by this time i was doing 2mph). the bad thing is she knows about cars and has a license although not driven for 4 months).

Hehe 'safely say' as in 'I assure you the following is true...'

Not 'I safely check my tyre pressures' Jay!

...anyways this has ended up a hijack so back on topic before the Supra boys get us...
