Avensis Vermont Bonnet Not Closing Fully .

Hello Friends. Just wondering if somebody can help my out here. Car bonnet on my yr 2000 Avensis Vermont is not closingjava script:emoticon('', 'smid_8') ,it seems that a wire held by bonnet opening lever is broken from somewhere,because lever is sticking out and isn't going back to its original position. does somebody know,what might be wrong and if there is a quick fix to it ?
