Mk3 Mr2 And Alloys

Hi ...

I've been thinking about buying a Mk3 MR2 and I've saw one at the weekend that seemed to be priced quite competitively. When I went to look at it I noticed that all four alloys had bubbling and flaking on them (some of them quite severly). Is this a common problem ? Is it easy to fix or do they need to be replaced ? The car was registered in 2000 and had 26K on the clock. Any help with this (and any info on what else I should be looking for) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

M

They would need refurb'ing, I think Toyota had a three years warranty on the alloy's although you would need to check with a local dealer....

Refurbing isn't that expensive although you could use it as an excuse to put aftermarkets on :)

I've heard before of Mk3 alloys bubbling, so I'd say it's quite common.

I recently bought a revision 5 Mk2 which has the same style alloys - these were bubbled!! Got the dealer to refurbish them though.

So if you're buying you could either get the price knocked down or get them refurb'd.

Do you think I could get this refurbed ? (only joking by the way)

Some rain, a pothole, half brick lying on the road and contact with a kerb that was sticking out a few inches (25MPH) :censor:
