Car Wash Warning

Hi Folks,

Just a cautionary tale for owners of Mk2 Ravs with the rear spoiler, mine snapped off in the car wash at the weekend.

Unfortunately as well as coming off the car, it also snapped into 2 pieces along the edge that attaches to the car, so it is going to be tricky to repair.

I'm hoping I can superglue the two parts together and then stick the whole lot back onto the car with extra strong double sided adhesive tape, but I fear that the strength may be compromised given the buffeting it will be exposed to, and I don't want to cause an accident with it flying off the car at a later date.

Anyone know where I could get a replacement cheap?

Cheers,

Ali

I did wonder if that looked easy to snap off in a car wash. Only realy stuck on. :(

I personally do not use car washes, prefer the hand wash method....

I have seen these rear spoilers on eBay recently... do a search for RAV4 and all items will be listed relating to these....

Blimey!!

Thanks for the tip Ali.

Toyota warned me to take off the aerial - but didn't say anything about the spoiler! Must say, they do look a tad flimsy.

When I bought mine the dealer warned me about this. He said the problem is when the brushes return back over the car. So I've never used one in nearly 4 years.
