My Breaks Are Slack Help?!

I've not used the car for arround 2 weeks so hopefully this is why..

but was just on a drive out and got to the top of my road, when I had to break, And the car made a strange noise. The break pedal was also kind of vibrating as I was slowing down.

As I put my foot down on the break pedal you can hear, a sort of "air" noise.

I thought it was maybe air in the break pipes maybe?

Any ideas anyone?? :!Removed!:

The first time i'd use the brakes on my Corolla after it had stood overnight they were a bit strange, once i'd use them once or twice they were ok though

You sure that it wasn't the ABS kicking in?

I had to break hard for the first time today in the wet and my ABS kicked in ;)

Have you tried pumping the brake? Get in the car and push the brake pedel to the floor, then take your foot off and keep pumping it and the pedel should get harder to press ...... but if I was you I would want to get it sorted asap!

When was the last time you had your brake fluid chainged ?

It gets 'tired' after several years work and is not as effective !

I seem to remember that the fluid breaks down ( I'm not sure why, but I'm sure that someone out there knows why. ).

Sorry about that I seem to have spelt 'changed' wrong above :!Removed!:

If it's been sat outside in all this rain for 2 weeks not moving it will have a nice layer of rust on the brake discs. If its grinding and scraping a 2 or 3 mile drive will clean the discs up nicely.

sounds like the brake discs are warped.

jack the car up take the wheel off and spin the disc round by hand, if its moving from side to side then you need new brake discs.

there going to stip the breaks apparently.

I still think its got something to do with air.
