Help! Electric Window Problem

I have a 96 N Carina. When I press the button for the front electric window - driver`s side - it goes all the way down without stopping, then if i try to raise it again nothing happens. However..... if I turn off the ignition and turn it on again then 30 seconds later I can raise the window to whichever position I like, as long as I don`t hit "down" again - or the whole scenario starts again! Is it a relay or something, and if so where is it?! Help would be much appreciated. Thanks
