I have developed a high pitched squeeling noise when I start the engine it seems to be there while the car is ticking over and stoped when you move it goes away. Any Ideas.

sounds like a loose belt taking up tension. probably your fan/ alternator/ power steering belt. should only cost a few quid to tighten it up.

NOOOO! Thats your crank pulley :(

I had the same problem on my 2JZGTE.

There is a rubber harmonic outside to the pulley and it makes a high pitched sound when you start up.

This gets worse and worse, then it will start to slip when you put your aircon on or do full lock to lock as your working the PS pump.

I left mine and ignored the sound and then the Harmonic part decided to leave my enginebay at 80+

Its becoming quite a common problem now from what i hear.

Get it changed ASAP
