Starlet Servicing

Hi...

New here but looking for a bit of help.

I've just bought a very neglected starlet (s reg 1.3i, 66k) and its in need of some love and attention. I've seen the great guide for cambelt change, and am going to have a crack at it this weekend. Got a bit of a list of other questions, any help would be appreciated.

The car didn't come with a handbook, can anyone tell me the service schedule?

Related to this, what oil and gearbox oil do people recommend?

The handbrake doesn't work on the rhs. Is the cable a single unit. Is this a common problem / or easy to replace? I'll have a go at freeing the cable tonight but I'm not hopeful.

Where do people get decent parts from? I'm based in north west, and will be after cambelt, rear shoes and drums soon.

Is there anything else I should be looking out for? especially considering its poor service record (probably non-existant)

I had a knackered fiesta before this, and although it needs a bit of work the starlet is much better put together. Easy to work on with plenty of room round components, haven't even found any siezed bolts / terminal rust so far.

Thanks,

Joe.

If you've done a Fiesta then you'll have no bother with a Starlet.

Like James said, it's all very straight forward. Good luck with it !
