Careful Of The Wind!

my mum got caught out by the wind. she opened up the car door at the same time as a strong bit of wind occurred and the door got pulled out of her hand. the result was it was forced back and the hinges broke which in turn bent the wing on her avensis, almost £1000 damage.

she took it to toyota in romford, essex and they said a few people have been in today with the same issue. insurance jobby for her!

be careful when u open the car door!

Yeah its gusty out there - I had it the other way earlier.... had to move my car for a colleague to get out and I went to get out of the car, opened the door and a gust of wind pushed the car door back shut.... I was amazed at how strong it was! :o

Yeah, that happened to me yesterday morning but it didn't open the door all the way & there was plenty of space around me anyway, it did cross my mind about what could have happened if the wind caught it a bit more strongly & I was parked somewhere else though

Indeed and even if the door doesn't suffer severe damage, doors that have been blown back against their hinges rarely close properly again.
