i have a 2004 d4d 2ltr. in the handbook it says the tyre pressures should be 35psi all round. my car has just been for a service and they set the pressure to be 39psi all round. the Bridgestone website says different again (although it wont work tonight so i cannot paste the link). what should the pressures be?.

should i go with the handbook or the people who make the tyres?

cheers

The Michelin website refers the user to the car manufacturers handbook/door pillar for pressures

I think on my 2.2, 35psi is the standard recommended pressure, 39psi is the 'high speed/heavy load' figure. There is a sticker inside the driver's door pillar showing this. Whatever, I would stick to Toyota's figures not Bridgestone's - the same tyre on different cars (ie differing weights and performance characteristics) should not necessarily be at the same pressure.
