Headlights Gone

I've got a T reg Avensis and the headlights have both gone.

The side lights and main beam work, but no headlights - which makes it a little bit dodgy driving at night

I rang my local dealer up and booked it in for Monday.

Is it something easy that i could do myself, or is it best to have it checked by the pro's ?

If any of you kind folk know what the problem is, do you also know what its likely to cost ?

You must be very rich. Mr T will charge you a small fortune. £100+ per hour labour rates you know!!!

Check/replace the headlight bulbs. That's probably the problem. The owners manual tells you how. Takes 5 minutes. Standard bulbs from Halfords. If you aren't sure Halfords can fit these for a small fee. But it is simple.

I can't see that it would be a blown fuse as the same fuse is for both the main and dipped beam. They are fuse No. 2 and 6 in the engine compartment fuse box.

The Main Beam and Dipped beam work on the same bulb.

If you don't have an owners manual the dealer can get you one for under a tenner.

Thanks for the reply.

I took a chance and let Toyota do it.

2 new bulbs - 26 quid.

I should have listened to you !
