Fuel Filler On 2007 D4d

Hi,

I normally lurk in the RAV4 section, but just popped over here on behalf of my Dad.

He has a 2007 D4D Yaris. So far, a great car, but we've noticed that at fill up time it is a bit temperamental with the fuel pumps.

It fills, but you tend to have to back the nozzle out some way to prevent the pump from continually cutting out and even then you normally can't do full flow from the pumps without it tripping.

So the question is, (before we whine at the dealer) are all newer shape D4Ds slow fillers or is there possibly a restriction in the filler pipe that shouldn't be there?

Thanks

My 2006 1.3 TSpirit petrol Yaris is exactly the same. The only way to fill is to take it slowly.

I get the same thing, but it can be improved by withdrawing the nozzle slightly and twisting it a little in the tank.

Many thanks both of you. He's had slow filling cars in the past so I expect he will get used to it.
