Nasty "shimmy" / Vibration

So my newly purchased 4x4 is doin some really bizarre stuff! I had it aligned and threw on a new set of 30x9.50 bfg's. Anyhow the alignment shop said there is an inch of play in the front end and said to replace the idler arm and pitman arm. pitman arm I said ? Doubt that has anything to do with it? Anyhow could the shimmy be caused by the worn out idler arm ? or maybe I just need to adjust the steering box abit? any thoughts or words of wisedom would be cool. Oh yes the shimmy starts at about 60 and stops at about 70 or so. Thx much,

Josh
