Rear Spoiler For Saloon Before Requiring New Rear Bumper!

Hi all, just a quick question. I am thinking of purchasing a rear spoiler so that wife can see how far to reverse the car before she hits something.. Can the rear spoiler be seen from the driver seat or is it too low? Other option is rear parking sensors but at £399 is it worth it?? Thanks people :)
