Hilux Old 2.4td Beats The D4d Engine

What do you lot think about the newer 2.5 d4d engine?

we have bought a 2003 model and the engine doesnt seem to have the same 'go' in it. (i know that the emmision :censor: has limited the engine on newer models)

our other hilux which is the 2.4 td (98) will pull forever and is silky smooth and take no effort to get it moving even when its towing. Where as this new one is absolutly shocking when its towing and on a recent trip would not get up to 3rd when towing up a very very very slight hill and later had to use 4wd to get the thing moving a again when i had to stop at a roudabout on a hill.

is it my pickup thats :censor: or are they all like that?

and no i wasn't towing overweight because the 2.4 model will take the weight and a bit more with out batting an eye lid.
