Hi,

I am thinking of buying a 2005 2.0 TD Avensis Estate from a Toyota garage.

I have seen it and it looks nice, is there anything I need to check in particular.

Thanks

Martin

Really, it that a common failure?

It's only done 26,000 miles by the way, is that still a valid question on such a low mileage?

Oh yes, MPG, I see the official combined figure is 47mpg for the 2.0 D4D.

What do other diesel Avensis owners actually get in the real world?

Martin

check both injectors and fine fuel filter and do not forget to test heating plugs.

you'd better read many issues for the same engine to keep in mind.

cheers/Igor

My 05 with 80k on the clock has been spot on throughout, clutch pedal got quite heavy about 6 months ago, replaced under warranty at 80k service. Light output on the dipped beam is mediocre at best, thats my one real gripe. I think the facelift models went some way toward addressing the headlight issue. I have been very happy with mine though. Its just the cost of fuel which is turning my head toward prius for my next Toyota.
