hi, i am new here and wasnt sure where to put posts about my pick up so i stuck it here(mine is not 4x4). i was told that these engines were pretty good with doing a little modding and getting some more horsepower from them. i dont know much about cars so i thought this would be a perfect place to start. any suggestions? thanks!!

Well you could start with a bit more detail , what engine is it and what fuel petrol or diesel .

We dont all have crystal balls .

nitrous, turbos? what, let's spend more money on adding a few horses than the thing is worth, come on, get a grip. K&N filters, high quality plugs and wires, change filters, synthetic everything, that will make some difference.

Everybody knows the only way to get any real horsepower out of a toyota engine, is to pull it out and drop in a 350 chevy. My 1984 4runner has a 22R with a header and a webber carb, and it's still not fast enough to get out of it's own way.

if it's a 22re (4 cyl. fuel injection)

go here

www.engnbldr.com

i hav his o/s valves and rv cam with a header and high flow muffler

gives 20 or 25 hp more

nice mods and gets as good mileage as before

loses nothing lower in powerband

gains even more higher up
