What Oil?

Hi all,

Unfortunately I don't seem to able able to locate my owners manual at the moment (it's not 'lost', just 'misplaced'!) so I'm a bit unsure as to what oil to top my 1999 Avensis 1.8 SE up with.

What do people recommend? I have some Mobil 1 Motorsport 15W50 which I regularly use on my S2 Elise but I think this may be overkill for the Avensis. There's some Halfords 10W40 Enhanced Mineral oil in the garage - is this up to the task?

Thanks,

Andy

The manual reccomends 5W30 for the 2.0 engine, I would imagine yours would be similar.

Oil required for moderate climate is 10w30. No such thing as over kill on engine oil, allways use the absolute best you can afford. Your engine will appreciate it.
